A two-day Training program on Basic Computer Skills for Non-Teaching Staff was organised by IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala under the aegis of DBT Star College Scheme on 7th and 8th March, 2025.
Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal said that it is a significant step towards enhancing the non-teaching staff’s digital literacy and administrative efficiency. He emphasised that sensitizing the staff through these kinds of workshops will increase their knowledge and make them technically sound. Dr. Kuldeep Kumar (DBT Co-ordinator) said that such hands-on training experience will improve understanding of concepts, ensuring better management of data base of students and teachers.
Organising Secretary Prof. Vinay Garg said that this workshop was designed to empower the participants with essential digital tools to streamline daily operations and improve productivity. During the session, participants received hands-on training in key areas such as MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email communication, internet usage, file management, and basic troubleshooting techniques. The interactive sessions allowed attendees to practice real-world applications, ensuring that they gained practical knowledge and confidence in using computers for various administrative tasks.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from the non-teaching staff, who actively engaged in discussions, practical exercises, and problem-solving activities. Personalized guidance was provided ensuring that each participant could understand and apply the concepts effectively. By the end of the session, attendees reported a significant improvement in their ability to handle digital tools, making their work processes more efficient and organized. This initiative aligns with the institution’s commitment to continuous professional development and digital empowerment. The success of this workshop highlights the importance of equipping all members of the non-teaching staff with necessary technological skills, ultimately contributing to the smooth and efficient functioning of the institution.
